Oh, Mr. Puerta…!

This one is for those of you who like bigger houses, of course. And have the two years to remodel it

Also, I kept hearing about Spain and its beautiful architecture from @Mitchell so I thought this one would be the one to post today, because this is a great example of what can be done with something from the XVIII century. I’d be more than ready to move there…!

XOXO

P. S. The Quintessence women crack me up.

Oh a weekend house. A nice little bungalow 😉. It is a beautiful home and the restoration is fantastic. He keeps it very open, no clutter. Wonderful work.

  2. Just a space for weekends??? Do the weekends last for months????
I love it and I loathe it; it's gorgeous, but so large and the size makes it feel a little stuffy and old ... cuz it IS old??
Now, the gardens and the courtyard? Gimme.

    1. MY weekends in this house would last for years.
And I do love it. I'll bring all my friends and have them spend weekends with me in Spain.
      And that courtyard? Same.

      XOXO

  3. Big says,
What's not to love? Of course, he's filthy wealthy to be able to restore that - and a beautiful job he did, inside and out. I love his "everything can breathe" remark. Exactly! I want that library and I want that chapel!!! The garden with the pool --- perfection!

    1. Oh, he's got all the money, probably.
It took TWO years to restore. Can you imagine?
And same with the library. And the CHAPEL??

  4. That place is simply awesome! I liked that he used tapestries instead of painting the walls. I'm betting he's not going to turn it into a B&B.

    1. It is incredible.
The idea of the tapestries is genius. And no, probably not open to the public any day soon..

  5. Stunning to look at.... and love the architectural elements....but I'm not sure I want to live in a museum. As much as I like the minimalist feel, it also feels stark and cold. I'd feel I should be sleeping in a glass coffin at night, lol!

    1. I do love everything, though.
I love the art, and I love the idea of recovering this jewel.
And when I have my own XVIII century renovated home in Spain, I'll get a glass coffin for ya...

      XOXO
