Oh, restoration..!

I’m not good with cars. There. I said it.
To be honest, I take mine to the dealer to have everything done to it. I leave the heavy lifting to the experts. I do know how to change the oil, how to charge a dead battery and how to patch a tire but that’s about it. I also never learned how to drive a stick shift. All my cars have had automatic transmission.

But I’d love to take a ride in his car.

XOXO

P. S. My favorite car will forever be my Saturn SC1 with its third door for the back seat.

  1. I learned how to drive on a standard transmission car and drove a stick shift until the mid-1990s. Then I switched to automatics and have driven them ever since. SO easy to drive and eat an ice cream cone at the same time! Impossible to do with a stick shift.

    1. I never learned, sadly.
My dream car is a stick-shift Mini Cooper and I won't be able to have it until I have the money. And then I'll need to learn how to drive it!
      Now I want ice cream.

  2. I used to drive only manual transmissions until the last few cars that were all automatic.
I can do oil and tires and that, but beyond there it's Call The Mechanic, and hopefully get a hot one!

    1. So jealous!
And I am afraid of fucking up the car. I always take it to the shop.
And my mechanic is ok, but the guy who usually receives my car? Zaddy!

  3. Lordy, we have more than one thing in common. I, too, had a Saturn SC1, and I owned mine long enough to change the battery 3 times and the headlights twice. Changing the headlights was a real bitch.

    1. No!
      It cannot be! LOL
I LOVED that little car! It was super cute and everybody loved that third door. And Saturn used to give me free oil changes and washes. My engine started to get temperamental and then Saturn went out of business. The day I sold it was sad.

What a great film. I’m not too good with cars myself. I can do the basics, but now a days you have to have an advanced degree in electrical engineering.

My favorite car was my first PT Cruiser, I loved that car. Unfortunately it got totaled when I hit a deer at 60 mph on the tollway. I loved the versatility of that car.

    1. OMG a BELT?
I'd cry by the side of the road.
And I can check the oil and pour some more in WHILE I rush to the shop...

  6. Big says,
I learned stick because my brother's car was standard transmission. Back in the day, I could even change spark plugs - but gauging the points was a real pain. Now, too much computer shit - you can't do things without the damn diagnostic tools.

    1. Oh, back in the day people could do a LOT for their cars.
My one friend's dad would get under his Jeep and it was glorious. That man had LEGS.
And yep, it's all computers now. A nightmare.

      XOXO
