Oh, Tom and Damien…!
Just in case you’re into remodeling and big houses…
This is one of those cases where I’m following the creators with real curiosity. On the one hand, I love restoration and makeover shows. Especially with houses that are not new. Love the idea of upcycling anything. On the other hand, gay men.
I would be absolutely overwhelmed, though. I would need a very specific frame of mind to be able to do anything like this with my man. For real. It takes a special kind of person to put up with my maniacal need to do everything well. But I'm sure some people who follow this blog (here’s looking at cha, kid!) would love to have all this space. In France.
XOXO
P. S. Follow them on Insta! @Chateauposeidon for updates
P.P.S. This other video shows them meeting the descendants of the people who originally owned the château!

I started watching the one with the couple who inherited the French one on HGTV. Pretty fascinating. Crazy expensive!
ReplyDeleteOhhh
DeleteI don't have cable, but I could bum me some HGTV to watch that one! I love this one because it's The Gayz.
XOXO
HGTV has had a couple of these shows, with chateaus and castles and I find it amazing how they modernize the place but keep the original details and history. It's quite a job!
ReplyDeleteOur kitchen redo may kill me! 😁😁😁
xoxo
That, I love.
DeleteI think these guys are going that route. They were talking to the relatives of the original owners and discovered the exact wallpaper the place had!!!
Oh I've been through a kitchen and a bathroom reno. Madness!!
XOXO
I cannot even imagine trying to do a huge restoration like this.
ReplyDeleteSame.
DeleteI would go INSANE.
XOXO
I wonder how many people are actually involved with this. One of my editors lives in France and rural labor tends to work with their own timetable, rather than yours.
ReplyDeleteProbably several.
DeleteIn the videos, you can see some contractors. If they are in a region with plenty possibilities for labor, they may be lucky.
XOXO
Just where do they get all this money for such a historic property to remodel them? I can't even imagine how much money that would take. A few years ago I was really heavy into shows like this but then burn out hit. Now I very rarely watch them at all. I may have to watch that first clip when I get home though.
ReplyDeleteBabes, THAT is my question.
DeleteI think one of them was in finances or something like that. They do have a nest. And a Patreon and all that. And they'll probably convert it into a B&B and charge a lot.
And you should watch it and follow them on Insta. They're fab.
XOXO

ReplyDeleteI agree with Maddie. These influencers always seem to have money to burn. I was also thinking how hard it would be to pickup and relocate to France, but then they mentioned Canada, and that makes it easier with the language problem. But, still…a huge adjustment.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
I cannot even imagine.
DeleteSame with the ones who travel AROUND THE WORLD. How??
Oh, yes, they both speak French. But it IS another country!
XOXO
Dépenses de lux ! :\

Yes!!
DeleteAnd they're doing it RIGHT.
This is not cheap. And now that you mention energy bills, they are planning on transforming a little chalet in the property to live during winter because it is easier to heat!!!
XOXO
