Oh, Garrard...!

There's no pain like the ex-gay therapy pain. We are all aware of that.

I would recommend you watch this video, not only because there's a thorough deconstruction of what the 'gay cure' is but because the whole thing has been resurrected as part of that new wave of anti-Trans rhetoric this administration has retaken and unleashed on us.

First they came for the..... and I did nothing....

Remember that??

XOXO

P.S.  Garrard wrote a book about it all:

P.P.S. If it sounds familiar, it is because there's a movie made about it:

  1. One of the big reasons Christians are into this is because they want their children to be breeders in a "be fruitful and multiply" sense.

    1. Correct.
Their philosophy of life is basically breeding. That's all they know. Their cult has no other way to survive.

  2. All these years and people still think it's a choice.
I want to challenge a straight man to go through straight conversion therapy and then tell us all that orientation is a choice.

    1. Oh, they believe what they choose to believe.
It's easier for them to think it's a 'choice'. But they would never be willing to 'choose' to suck dick. Because they know it's impossible to 'choose' that.

  3. Big says,
Haven't read the book, but have seen the movie. I'd be willing to bet what's in the book is way more horrendous than what made it to the screen. These places are physical and mental torture chambers. I shall come back and watch the video. Mainly because I want to know what "authorized" means. No. If it's ***your*** experience, you gat to tell it like it was (is). No holds barred. Every fucking bit.

    1. Oh yes.
Conversion therapy is a bogus scam that tortures people in physical and psychological ways. And the video is very good. Recommend.

  4. Yet another crime against humanity perpetrated by religion. I feel so bad for anyone subjected to that soul-destroying cruelty.

    1. Correct.
Religion has always been an instrument of torture. These people will forever have some form of PTSD. Really.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
Garrard is a magnificently strong individual. Too many horrendous actions are committed in the name of religion. As you mention, the trans community is the latest victim, and the oppressors have the backing of this shit show of a US government. Hopefully their downfall is quick and painful.

    1. He is!
He found strength to leave the cult and to become a very successful person without the crutch of religion. And they are victimizing Trans people right now the same way they did with gay people years back. Before their scam fell apart...

  6. Christians and their bullshit. Besides, if they even bothered to actually read their book of myths, the bible they would know that on judgement day Jesus says "Depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you", (Revelations). And if they bothered picking up a dictionary, they would know that the definition of iniquity is inequality.

Oh well, some people will always choose hate and judgement over love, let people be happy, and live the life they want.

  7. Well, xtianists are not known for their critical thinking skills, right?
I love how you quote their little book back at them! LOL

And you are right: some people will always choose not to think and just blindly follow some kind of dogma. Or fascism.

So they want gay men and lesbian woman to convert and be straight.
And they expect people to live a lie, as was done in the past by some to great regret. Strange how xtians quote scripture and exalt the ten commandments while desecrating both. Is it not wrong to live a lie ? And what of the harm it does to those involved. One is best to live their truth, for the truth sets us all free.
