Oh, the whole ballgame...?
@johnossoff is a Dem from Georgia.
From fucking Georgia!
Still, here's the thing: 'liberals' keep saying they will 'not vote' for Newsom, Kamala, AOC, Bernie, etc. They are starting (it's 2026, people!!) very early with their purity tests. That was what gave us Cankles, BTW. But there are other people who could potentially be very good contenders in 2028 (Ossoff here, Talarico there, Tim Walz, Andy Beshear, Mark Kelly, Josh Shapiro and J.B. Pritzker come to mind, but fuck Marianne Williamson.
I think Ossoff would be a good candidate. Look at that resume! The man is charismatic, very intelligent and not afraid to speak his mind. Just listen to the interview and see how he DRAGS Cankles with little effort... This one is not afraid to speak truth to poser, babes.
XOXO
Big says,
ReplyDeleteWhat scares me about Ossoff is...losing that seat to a Magat in '28. We need folks like him in the Senate. Hell, we need people like him in the House and WH --- but GA is gonna be purple for a long time yet.
The Purity Tests are total bullshit. They keep that shit up and we'll get Cankles again in 28. The prediction is: If the GOP retain congress, we get Cankles for good. Problem is, voters don't seem to quite grasp that ideology is different everywhere. It can change from county to couny and still be a Blue state overall.
XOXO
I am hearing rumors that Cankles may croak in less than a year.
DeleteFingers crossed, cause the cult is nothing without him. And I also worry about good Libs/Dems losing their positions in Red states because they move up the food chain. Ugh.
XOXO
HuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing when both Ossoff and Rafael Warnock won their senate seats. I believe Warnock successfully retained his seat since he won in a special election. Yes, there are a slew of possible contenders for the Dems. And I share Bigs concerns about retaining that seat for the Dems. With MTG’s seat open for a special election also in Georgia, it’s a nerve wracking time we live in.
XOXO 👨🏼❤️💋👨🏽
Yes.
DeleteI was surprised also. Especially because those were Repug bastions. That's why they are gerrymandering everything and doing everything they can to do voter suppression.
And isn't it absolutely crazy that people still don't understand how bad the MAGAts are???
XOXO
If Democrats can stop sabotaging themselves and line up around someone like him, 2028 could be a real reset instead of another self‑own.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable.
DeleteIt's absolutely crazy. I can't believe it, but here we are.
XOXO
It's not the democrats you need to worry about, it's the Independents. They are by far the largest voting bloc in the country. They will vote for Newsome
ReplyDeleteIndependents, undecided, progressives, they all demand stupid purity tests from politicians. Good luck with that. The right wingers and the MAGAts will take that and laugh all the way to the wite house again. And to the bank.
DeleteXOXO
Democrats need to get their shit together and stop with the nonsense; stand up and speak up and act up.
ReplyDeleteI like Ossoff; he gets it.
xoxo
I know, right????
DeleteIs that they learned NOTHING.
Love Ossify. And he COULD get it.
XOXO
I love him!!!!!! And some of the new blood who won races is a good start. Problem is these great people aren't in their positions long to do good things before they are already moving up. We need good candidates like Ossoff to run, and just take the positions. My ex who was in politics always said when a candidate runs and loses twice, they may as well hang it up, its rare they will come back and win...people mentally put the name together with losing. I liked Harris, but I don't know she'll ever win a national race again or even governor of Cali. I think we need strong candidates in all levels WHO WORK...not seat holders who do nothing. They will get nothing done.
ReplyDeleteAlso Dems need to let us vote this time for the candidate we like, and not cram a choice down our throats like the last time. Granted that was a special circumstance, but that put a lot of people off voting for Harris, that and her flim flam stance on the war in Israel.
Yes, there's a lot of new faces around.
DeleteThat should be great for when the presidential election comes by. But yes, they are always moving up (it's part of politics, I guess). I think the Dems will be able to do more when there's not a super Repug majority EVERYWHERE like now. It's insane. It's also the worst the country has been, but the DOW is $50,000, right?
XOXO
Back in 1968 after RFK’s assassination many young Democrats couldn’t bring themselves or wouldn’t vote for Hubert Humphrey over the Viet Nam war, who then lost to Richard Nixon by narrow margins.
ReplyDeleteWe ended up with the Viet Nam war going on until 1975, the Watergate scandal and the erosion of public trust in our institutions.
All laying the groundwork for the mess we have today.
These purity tests have to end or we will have no democracy.
Politics is a dirty business, and you have to play your cards right.
