Oh, …Gallant!

 

This is @ChrisGallant, a Dem running against a Repug in a very Red area of Long Island. He’s an Army National Guard Black Hawk Pilot, a firefighter, an air traffic controller and a Union leader. He's what many in the Right dream to be. He’s also gay. On paper, he reads fantastic.

The Repug has all the advantage, though, in this very Red district. He’s won twice by ten points. And now the New York Post (obviously ) has dug up Gallant’s past as a BDSM model but if he gets elected, he’ll make history. He’s got all the qualifications to be a great representative, so the conservative right wing Repug machine is in high gear ready to tear him to pieces.

So what if he’s got erotic photos posing with his then boyfriend for a BDSM catalog from more than 15 years ago? He was a consenting adult when he took the photos. There’s a rapist felon pedophile with direct links to a sex ring in the White House married to a former call girl who used to pose naked and belonged to said sex ring right now. And I’m not even talking about the car clown of corrupt Repugs with all kinds of secrets holding office (I’m not even talking about the felon’s relatives, natch) right now. So we should be meager with the pearl clutching when it comes to sex.

I think it would be fantastic if he wins. If you live in Long Island, vote for him. Go ahead, I support you.

Let’s be clear about what this is: a coordinated political hit meant to drive me out of this race. This represents everything that is wrong with our politics today. The establishment clinging to power, mudslinging as a means of skirting accountability at the ballot box.

I’m proud of who I am. I won’t be shamed into silence – and I won’t allow my private life to be distorted and weaponized against me.

Heres the truth - I’m fighting to make life easier for hardworking families. Tackling the affordability crisis, fixing our broken healthcare system, and cleaning up the corruption in DC. That’s why I got in this race — and that’s what I’ll fight for in Washington.
