Some people have dismissed LilNasX's influence. And I understand. It's just another rapper doing rap, right? Well, maybe not. That's just the surface.
Yeah. He did that. And then he took on the haters:
Remember this performance took place on BET. During Prime time. During an awards show. Also, remember how kissing one of his band members almost cost Adam Lambert his career a few years back. Yeah, not just 'another rapper'.

Nas is making the most of this and I applaud him for it. He’s hot, he has an audience, and he’s bringing the message to the forefront.

I like Lil Nas X's in-your-face style! Long may he flaunt . . . well, everything! On another front, I hear Queen Latifah finally "officially" came out at the BET Awards too while receiving a lifetime achievement award. She was in a glass closet for years, of course, but still it's nice to see she feels free enough at last to publicly acknowledge her partner and son.

His music and rap, are not my cup of tea....I think Cardi B, Lil Kim and some Heavy D are about all the rap I can take...and even then very little of them. I LOVE his style though!!!!!! But if Lil Nas X is in my bed, making crumbs, eating, I wouldn't kick him out of bed. Thats said , trust me, he wouldn't be eating...he'd be busy with other things.

Ha! I didn't think I'd like his music. I was wrong. I've enjoyed everything I've seen/heard. But, I don't think it's Rap...it feels more like Hip-Hop. The vast majority of Rap makes me crazy. 😁 Ah, little Michael...so sad. XOXO

He's challenging many outdated ideas and being successful while doing it. One tweet at a time. He knows how to work social media. He has grown up with it.
