Thanksgiving with your liberal mom....
I’m thankful for you, Constant Reader.
Happy Thanksgiving/ Friendsgiving!
Don’t let the tryptophan get you!

That's the title of one of my favourite songs. The most lethal, the most essential thing is to hear your own voice. Also, keeping up with the idea of writing as catharsis, this one blog is dedicated all to myself. More solipsism would be hard to find. And I like it like that. Oh, and this is a queer (and self-proclaimed 'ADULT') blog so go ahead, make your day... mine is done.
Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt was not as bad as I thought LOL. And I managed not to eat too much, which is good!
XOXO

ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. Oh, and I have to point out that Robert ignores the fact that the pilgrims were religious zealots escaping persecution from the Church of England. Not pointing out the fact that many on board the Mayflower were members of the English Separatist Church and not Puritans is a failure. They are one of the reasons our founding fathers wrote a 'separation of church and state' into our Constitution. It seems to be Robert has a desperate ax he wants to grind.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Dave!
DeleteAnd of course the pilgrims were religious zealots throwing a transatlantic tantrum. What robert points out is the little-known fact that they did have investors in England, who helped finance their very expensive trip. As farmers or working class citizens they had no capital. They approached private capitalist entrepreneurs to give them the dough. Robert is actually quite accurate. Check the link in the P.S. I'd link here The New American, but I despise them.

Well, Robert Raymond sure knows how to turn down a room! But, of course, he's right... and this is why truthful history should be taught in our schools. Enough about your feelings. Your kid's feelings. The truth should win out. Otherwise, you're saying there is no right or wrong. I've chucked the whole Thanksgiving myth. For me, this holiday is about food, family getting together and general gratitude. Grateful for you , dear one. You continue to expand my world with your lovely blog. I adore your inquisitiveness and need to know the latest. You are the magazine I would most want to subscribe. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteHahaha
DeleteYes, Mr. Raymond is quite correct in his statement. And the fact that the Pilgrims were in a business venture is something that is NOT taught at schools (it's all about how good they were and how they suffered and all that WASPy fantasy). I also celebrate Thanksgiving because the family gets together.
Aww and thanks, Upton. I'm grateful for you.
XOXO
happy Thanksgiving all you USA friends
ReplyDeleteThank you, Xersex!!
DeleteXOXO
The tryptophan? Now you tell me. I hope you had a Nice Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
DeleteIt comes with the territory!
And I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!
XOXO
I haven't considered the day as anything historical to this country for decades. That would be a misnomer. Nope. The day is really for being thankful for friends and the friends who I've chosen as my family. XOXO
