Maze Running

On of the things I keep hearing is that people can't wait to go  'back to normal'. And for their tiny brains that means not wearing a mask and going about their conspicuous consumption unbothered. I don't think there's going to be a 'back to anything' any time soon.

And I'm not being pessimistic or a Debby Downer. It's just that there's no going back to March 2019.  THAT boat has sailed. We've seen several 'once in a century' things happen: the election of a corrupt clown to the highest office on earth, the devastation a global pandemic has caused (with one million deaths in the US alone, caused by... stupidity and entitlement) and the invasion of a country by a Bunker Dwarf (thnx, Bae) blinded by greed and self-sufficiency.

Doesn't it feel to you that you are witnessing things that, let's say, ten years ago seemed primed for a movie, a tv series or a particularly deranged doomsday scenario book? Nowadays there's no plot twist that seems too insane to me. Nothing. It's like Shonda Rhimes has taken over my brain and not even the most corrupt, deranged, tragic event bestowed upon us by the conspiracy theory-addled mind of the most stupid of Agolf Twitler supporters seems out of the normal anymore.

Things that have happened since 2016 (But Her Emails!) seem to have cascaded into worse and worse-case scenarios in such a way that my mind seems to have been expanding ever since to accept more and more incredibly deranged options and fuckery upon fuckery. These scenarios are getting increasingly worse for everyone. It's a domino effect that affects everybody and people just sit there while you mutter under your breath: 'Don't do it!' it's like watching a car crash from afar. 'Back to normal' my ass.

I think the Biden administration has done a good job with this latest development (Vlad, in his blind confidence in his own evil ways miscalculated spectacularly his invasion of Ukraine) by warning the American people and the world about what was going to happen. For once, in the last five years, I have felt that the country was being guided by a steady hand. After four years of fuckery, being thrown around by a corrupt GOP and a thin-skinned  orange man-child dragging around soiled diapers and driven by his giant Id, it felt like an adult was at the wheel. Not that it can last, mind you. The Repugs are just getting ready to pounce.

But things are not 'safe'. People think we're going to go 'back to normal' in what concerns American government too. And I don't think, not even for a moment, that we are done with Cheetolini. The Repug party right now is literally MAGAts. With one or two onerous exemptions, the whole party is a corrupt, prurient, stinky mass of fuckery. And don't give me the 'both sides are equally corrupt' because I will slap you silly. Nobody and I mean nobody thought Cheeto would be president. Not even him. Then, when it seemed inevitable, Susan Sarandon and Colby Keller some people thought it would be 'good' for the country to be 'shaken down' and here we are. Fucked up to the extreme, with one million people dead because of a megalomaniac worried about 'his numbers' and a tiny, tiny man invading another country and way in above his head in the world stage at this moment.

Call him by any name: Putin's Papaya-Flavored Pawn, The Emperor with No Clothes, Shitler, The Fanta Fascist, The Great White Dope, The Orange Moron, The Lone Deranger, The Boinker Oinker, Orange Caligula, The K-Mart Caesar. He is the most clear and present danger to American democracy. He is the de-facto leader of the Republican party as I type this. A Dystopian Future is not something we can rule out, especially because you can see it happening in Ukraine. I don't want to sound like a prepper, but hey, if the Orange Anus and his minions take over again ...

XOXO

  1. We have to create a new normal. And when that ends, because it always does, we have to create a newer normal.

    1. Agreed.
And that's something that many people in the US refuse to understand. They want back to their carefree conspicuous consumption in large groups without taking into account that we just went through a pandemic. They want to look the other way at the GOP destroying democracy.
      Head, meet sand.

  2. I agree. The worst scenario possible is the re-election of Putin-loving authoritarian crazy person Trump. I don't think the USA could survive a second term of him.

    1. Oh the US would never be the same.
Just with the side effects of the Cheeto infection we are seeing the results: reproductive rights are fucked. LGBTQ rights are being curtailed and voter suprression runs rampant. A new Cheeto (slicker, smarter) would be catastrophic.

  3. They literally look at it as a second coming. Unfortunately, he never left. The things that are happening in Florida, Texas, Missouri and other red states is the foreshadowing of what they want to accomplish nationwide. We must get the message out there and amplify their fuckery. There is a “new normal” practically every week. Like you said, nothing is beyond imagination at this point. The DOJ and NY attorney general need to step up the pace on their cases.

    1. Your right too Huntley...but the NY attorney general is getting on my nerves. How much more fucking evidence does she need? Plus, she had three years already when he was still in office. It's time to shit or get off the terlet!!!!! I don't have much patience can you tell, lol

    2. Oh, the Repugs are working day and night to destroy democracy.
And people sit in the boiling water without feeling the temperature raising. Their exceptionalism is blind and deaf because they think the US is 'too rich a country' to have something like what happened in Ukraine to it. The 'new normal' is one of fuckery and corruption and the law seems blind to it.
I'm with Maddie. My patience is running thin.

  4. The fuckery is going to continue. At every turn of a corner. We can get out the vote, we can outvote them by the hundreds of thousands, by the millions and...it won't matter. Because they will change the tally and declare their guy won. The GQP is so far up his ass we can't even see their heels. But you say, "they voice their opposition to Vlad daily in interviews." Don't listen to what they say, WATCH WHAT THEY DO. They voted AGAINST the aid package for Ukraine. How many members of our own Congress are Russian allies?
A second term for the Orange Ogre will not be his last.... XOXO

    1. That is just it Pat. We only knew of Putin's inference when Trump was stealing his win. For all we know, he interfered and won many member of congress even before trump...getting his ducks lined up....hence those votes. When money talks...they can love Russia then.

    2. For the Repugs it was always be party before country.
The taste of corrupt power they had with Cheeto left them salivating. Hence the rampant voter suppression and gerrymandering. Hence the bills and laws at the state level cutting down on women's and LGBTQ rights. The Repugs will lie and cheat and steal in people's faces and nobody will blink.
Vlad put Cheeto in power with the help of the stupidity and blind entitlement of the American people. And it can happen again, with someone far more intelligent than Chitolini. And it'll be hell.

  5. This country will never return to what it was. Ever. Trump opened that Pandora's Box, and now he pushed the right even further right and right into their conservative and crazy and insulative racist ways. The checks and balances are no more, and IM STILL confused as to why trump and many of his ilk ARE STILL WALKING FREE ??????? Something is serious wrong with this government. Even after he admits to taking out of DC confidential files and such and shreds them????????? If Hillary had said she did that, she would have been in jail quicker then Chris Christie eating a dozen Krispy Creme.

As for the pandemic, I was out and about in Philly this weekend for a event and a birthday party. The most people I was around yet. Even though mask and guidelines are being dropped left right and center, I was shocked by the number of people still wearing masks here. Made me feel better and less anxiety riddled. It felt good to get out and take a large walk about the city. I swear I must have walked 8 miles or more. The problem is I gives you a tease and want more, but I'd been "holed up" for so long now, I don't know if my social life you ever go back to the same. As lovely as the weekend was, by Sunday afternoon I was ready to be back home and was getting over people.

MM#1 Fan and I talk about a trip abroad as some friends of ours have done and didn't encounter any issues. It depends on where to travel, maybe less popular places. Everywhere I want to go is usually obscure places that many don't go to first. I have never been drawn to the major "go to" places first. But still, I don't think I'm ready, yet I told him. I know my anxiety will go up. Hell, my anxiety getting ready to just go into town this weekend had me on edge at first. I think things are so normal now as they will get. Your right no back to 2019 my friend.

    1. Regarding masks: I still wear one indoors, even though the mandates have been lifted. One of the few. And I’m still not comfortable going to a restaurant, so I’m still doing carry-out.

    2. In SoFlo, Uber drivers can spot their passengers at a snap. They're the only ones wearing a mask.

I'm so tired of the orange con artist. We are working very hard here to correct the redness of the state.

    3. Cheeto did show us the actual face of the GQP.
The Repug's main platform is bigotry, racism, xenophobia and sexism. They have nothing to offer but oppression and corruption. And why? Because Cheeto has shown them that impunity runs rampant and that you can hurt democracy in the most chest-puffing country in the world and get away with it.
And same about going out and being surprised at so many people still taking care of others by wearing masks. I went to buy a gift (I don't do Amazon and it was somebody's bday) and I saw many people wearing masks. I still wear mine and will keep doing it for awhile because being around maskless people gives me anxiety.
I'm still not going to places that can be crowded. I've been to one restaurant and one movie theater (in the middle of the afternoon) . I'm not ready to go 'back to normal' because there is no 'normal' anymore.
As for Florida, goodness gracious. Good luck with Death Santis.

  6. There is always change. Those who understand this float to the top and sail through life. Those who don't, like Vlad the Bunker Dwarf, shit their pants badly before their Karma arrives.

    1. Hahahaha
Vlad the Bunker Dwarf. But we did get change. We got it with Obama. And then the pendulum moved so sharply to the Right that we got Cheeto. And the damage is done, especially because the bigots and the homophobes and the racists got a taste of power. I'm still waiting for Karma to come and bite Agolf Twitler in the ass. Really.

  7. Fascism is the real enemy. And it is everywhere. In every corner of our lives - and we were blind and deaf to it because 1/ we didn't think it could happen in America and 2/ we have a tendency to only hear what gels with our world point of view. But the uglies, they crazies, the meanies, the bullies, the Karens, the rascists, the homophobes, etc. have always been here since desegregation in this country began. They changed shape and colors and names... but it's the same old dialogue - dialogue we failed to respond to because... hey, this is America and we are #1. Well, we're not. We're behind the pack by quite a bit (universal healthcare) and we're still divided and terrified by semantics. Here, we split words into micro-syllables in order to derive their meaning. Let's just start taking things at face value folks. You're right, my dear. We are never going back to the wide-eyed optimism that we once possessed. The defeat of HRC was the death knell of all fantasy. Now? It's hard work. It's educating. It's voting. It's getting out the vote. It's participating. We can't hide in our basements any longer... we all have to get to work. And fast. Because Grandpa Joe is running out of time and has accomplished some, but not all we'd hoped. The one thing that remains is for the orange ogre and his hoodlums to be held accountable for their crimes against democracy. Until that happens...? We're treading water, my friends.

    1. Oh, absolutely.
People think 'it can never happen here' but it's been happening. An inept Russian puppet was elected president. The Manchurian Candidate damaged the country in an irreparable way. And the ugly underbelly of the country was there for everybody to see.
You are right: the uglies have always been there. Now we can see them. That's the only difference.
The work has just started. That's why we all should not only preach to the choir (I know that people who read this blog does not need to be reminded to vote or be educated) but to the public in general. Uncle Joe is not going to be in office forever. You know the next Cheetolini is being groomed as we type and if there's no consequences for Cheeto and his spawn and minions there's no hope for this country.

  8. are you referring to Colby Keller, the gay porn actor?
In fact, I had read his support for your previous POTUS, but I was hoping I had read it wrong. I was hoping that I knew little English and was therefore reading the opposite. Unfortunately, this was not the case ...
