The Beauty of Being Too Much
Right now the Repugs (and conservative bigots and xtianists) are aiming for both interracial and gay marriage. Latrice’s marriage covers both of those slots. The House is voting to protect both, so it would be unfair to have anybody say that the Dems do squat, btw. They are doing something, even with the Repugs breathing down their necks and cockblocking them at every turn. Anyway, when Latrice talks about being 'too much', I feel her. This is Post-Trump America, after all, and being Black, Queer, a Drag Artist, fat, and being in an interracial relationship sounds like a quite impressive hot button list to me. It's like walking around with a target on your back in 2022 America, home of the 'free'. Isn't that ironic, Alanis?
I do think that people who are in interracial relationships do show the finger to conservatives who think that America is 'white', though. The fact that the Religulous Wrong want to make a white supremacist theocracy of the United States never ceases to amaze me and people like Tim and Chris gives me hope. They give me hope because they are brave and lead the charge against bigotry and racism, the two forces that drive the MAGA movement. Add to that the internalized homophobia, colorism, fatphobia and femme phobia that the gay community struggles with and voilá! you have more than one thing to worry about.
Watching people peel the layers of their lives is always such a powerful experience. It does take nerve. Go ahead, watch the video. You'll see how your assumptions all go to hell. Because you DO have assumptions, honey.We all do. Happy viewing!

It is a damn shame that is happening in 2022 but nothing should be that surprising when it comes to the MAGA folks. It is so depressing and disheartening that they think this is what and how America should be.

I have always loved Latrice and while she has been very vocal about the editing of Drag Race, that what I love she calls them as she sees it. Not only also does she have those targets on her but also she has to feel the need to prove herself with her pass, which should be mute. It's not like she went out and murdered someone. She should be celebrated for turning her life into something great.

Most of the Repugs ARE miserable bastards, that's true. I can't with them and their bitter, entitled ways. And the Dems are getting shit done. It's an uphill battle with the Rethugs blocking every single step, but some things are indeed getting done.
