The Curator

I love his house. His respect for art and his dedication to showcasing things that he loves is fantastic. I love that he has an outdoor bath. And I'm not gonna lie: I'd get in that tub with him in a heartbeat. I guess it's because I like men who can express their feelings and I think that's sexy. It's something that we don't find often in the gay community.

The house is unpretentious but that makes the artwork with which he surrounds himself pop up even more. It also adds great bursts of color and texture that are both unexpected and welcome. I really liked the sunroom, with its mural and all that light and his dinnerware, with its great backstory.

Some men seem to be so stunted emotionally that they seem absolutely closed to being touched by anything or anybody. Seeing a big, burly man so in touch with his inner self (the story about the hat that reminds him of his mom was so very touching!) and so sensitive to his surroundings is something that really touches me.

Did I mention he's sexy as fuck?

Oh, I think I did. My bad.

XOXO

  1. I.Love.This. He has "things" but not an abundance, so the things he has get a chance to shine. Plus, I can't stop picturing him in the tub and wish I lived up the hill from him.

    1. I Know right? It's kind of just the right amount of 'things'. And each object does kind of stands out. And the FIRST thing I did was to picture myself IN the tub with him. Great minds...

    Big says,
What a great place. My favorite thing: The piece on the wall behind that outdoor tub. Yep. I want that! XOXO

    1. Isn't it cool?
And isn't it funny that even the outdoor tub is a showcase? Especially if he's in it.

  3. My favourite things are his mismatched handmade plates, glasses and cups, and also the memento mori ring!

    1. Oh, can you imagine the possibilities for conversation at dinnertime?
And I couldn't get over the idea of such a dainty thing in such a big man.
      Yes.

    HuntleyBiGuy:
He has an amazing collection. The “octopus” light fixture is intriguing, but I’d probably go crazy with guests fiddling around with it. The ceramic cabinet was very interesting. You could tell it’s very heavy by the way he grunted when he opened it (I KNOW you heard the grunt). I wonder if he has heavy-duty anchors in the wall to hold it.

    1. It's a fantastic collection.
And you know that people would go and try to do something with that fixture LOL. Workable Art, probably. And the ceramic cabinet was interesting. Very sculptural. And I did hear him grunt. Yes.

  5. If anything else....he had me at outdoor bath. When I glamp or visit my my friends., the snotty gay couple, they too have an outdoor bath. Nothing like showering or soaking outdoors. A guilty pleasure. Right there with skinny dipping and being one with nature.

    1. That outdoor bath is so... free?
I think outdoor baths are such a luxury, especially because that's unthinkable here in the Midwest.
Ohhh skinny dipping!!! I wanna go skinny dipping with him and you.

  6. Interesting. Some of it's nice, like the tile cabinet, however that light in the kitchen is downright hideous.

    1. He's got very nice art pieces.
After all, he's a curator. And that light is quite the conversation piece, no?

  7. He is. I would like to play 'train conductor' with him... toot, toot. The outdoor bath is very odd, but then he lives in L.A. and if you can afford to do that and collect art? You're doing very well. He must have a housekeeper come in and clean. His collection is fun and his house, little more than a museum. But he's very happy and proud, so good for him! Very fun. I would love to do a similar thing. I have so much art, but not the walls or space to display it all. I don't think that will ever change, as I'm not one for taking up a lot of space that has no purpose. Thanks for sharing this. You find the most interesting people. Kizzes.

    1. Oh, I'd play most anything with him.
And his house is super fun, I did not get the museum quality, more like a showcase of very quirky art. Loved the mural.
And you MUST take the art out of wherever it is and put it up. Just for you. Like he does. What I like is that his things are there because he WANTS them there. He's enjoying them.
Don't make me come to Minneapolis, Upton!!

      XOXO
