Chau & Desna....

Ok, so yes. Yes to everything about this place. Yes to the idea that it was a knitting factory and they rehabbed it and made it a home. Yes to that absolutely fabulous vertical garden, yes to all the space and the room the furniture has to breathe. Yes to the idea that you can make the house you deserve.

The windows would freak me out because I would forget they're mirrored and then realize I'm half naked in the sitting room. But the LIGHT!! I do love the bedroom, but I am on the fence with the tub (probably because I do not take baths, like they do). I do love the us they make of the light (both natural and artificial) and all the very specific details they sprinkled throughout the house, like the light switches being knobs used by DJs (proof that we make a house out of love). Also, I covet that outdoor space in a terrible, terrible way. Very cool.

XOXO

P.S. I also love they built and made the house they WANTED.  Will everybody like it?  Probably not. But they do. And that, my dears, is what really matters.

  1. Love the huge mirrored windows, the vertical wall of greenery and those colourful lighting features. Otherwise it's a bit too stark for my taste.

    1. Oh, that vertical garden?
I do want! I think it's a fantastic idea to have that kind of greenery at home, especially with all that light!

  2. The mirrored windows are nice, but I don't think they have a very good grasp on how much space they have and as a result everything seems 2 dimensional

    1. Oh, so there's too much space here, huh?
And they do say they are minimalists. This is how they like it. I don't think it's flat. I think the spaces breathe and serve their function while still being beautiful...

I especially love the way they use artificial light. The house is totally transformed at night.

    Big says,
Yes, please! 150% yes. Well, except for the tub next to the bed. That's a no for me. The lighting is awesome. And that photo/painting? Love! The outdoor rooftop? Another love. What's great about the mirrored windows is that you could be naked all day and night and not a soul outside would be able to tell. XOXO

I also wondered about that tub in the bedroom. But she loves her baths so more power to her. That's what I call 'customization'. LOL
Love their outdoor spaces, too! And I thought the same about the mirrored windows...

  6. Adore. Leave to the lesbians to do it right. How fun and lovely... just a comfort.

Their personalities are nicely intertwined in the space and the devil (or the lesbian) is in the details. Super comfy and stylish.
