Oh, Erdem...

Ahh.. Nothing like your house backing into a deconsecrated 17th century cemetery. But I'm ahead of myself. Let's back up.

I would love living in a house like this. You see, it's kind of the best of both worlds: it feels spacious enough to pass for a house, but it's intimate enough to pass as an apartment. Also, I'd like to marry an architect, so he can help design the interior of the house we own. But I digress.

We all have our 'objects'. Those things we've collected/acquired and that hold a special meaning to us. I really like that he got that painting for the kitchen. Imagine you getting some artwork that was made in your space you occupy, made by a previous owner of that space. Loves it. And that Japanese bath?? Yes.

I love this space. I really like how the furniture and the objects and the artwork that the men who live here have sprinkled throughout their house speak volumes and are perfectly showcased by non-fussy walls and lots of light. Also, this is a perfect example of someone telling fab stories about the things that have spread out in their house. It's the perfect marriage of my love for antiques and thrifted things and the clear lines that come with good design. Also, men in artwork. I'd love to have some more of that around me. It's so... sensual?

As a bonus, Pippy!

XOXO

First off he’s adorable and I love his voice. I like the way he has things that are precious to him for very different reasons. And he has eclectic tastes for his collections: antique photo albums, as well as his parents’ wedding album, the various busts and all of the artwork.

He IS adorable. Love the accent. And you know we all have things that we consider awesome and valuable that may not be as much for others. It's the way things are. And that Victorian photo album? Very interesting.

  2. Bits of this house are soooooo me and my style, I loved it, all but the bathroom. It felt to open and cold for me with the tub in the middle and I can't stand books on a floor stacked like that in the bedroom. Books should have a place of more respect, not that he doesn't respect books. Those green sofas I especially liked. I love a nice pop of color.

And if it's a head Erdem would like to feel and stroke, I have one for him to use!!! I'd have his clothes off and tapping him in a New York minute. He can keep the glasses on too. For some reason I would talk really dirty to him too. Sorry I took this post to ground zero again.

But it's a lovely home. And a nice balance of color and white.

But I did like the style. I like the layout and I don't mind it being open (Dave thought the shower was too small). I love the combination of white on the walls and the use of color to make things pop, too. Very smart.
And I have to confess I also have books on the floor in the bedroom! Sorry! LOL

As for Erdem. Yes, please. I agree with you! LOL

  4. The shower's nice, though small. I'd be worried about the steam damaging some of the artwork he has in the bathroom.

    1. I did like the shower. I do not need a huge shower, and there's a tub.
Overall, it's a very cool bathroom but I did think about humidity and artwork. I've seen many people with artwork in the bathroom, though (I have some artwork there, too). It would be worth exploring some more about it..

    Big says,
VERY nice place. I think it's important to have things around that speak to us. I mean, otherwise why have them? I agree with Maddie - get the books off the floor! Eek! Pippy - well, I could just steal Pippy!! XOXO
P.S. If his husband is the architect who designed the home and it was built in 1963?? Talk about robbing the cradle. 😉😉😉

    1. I agree.
I think that the things we have (they don't HAVE to be expensive) is what makes living in our places such a joy. LOL And I have to confess I also keep books on the floor. Please don't tell Maddie! She'd let me have it!

      XOXO

      p.s. you're funny!

  6. Well, while he is absolutely adorable and Pippy stole my heart and I could be really comfortable in that house his collections just scream money. Would be nice to have those resources to indulge ones self.

Same! Isn't it the perfect balance? And it does scream money. It comes handy to have a husband who knows what to do with a house, too!

  7. I love this one, even the cemetery love. I could live in this quite nicely and fill it with my objects as long as the tub comes with ... I could use a soak!

I have NEVER lived near a cemetery, though. I guess one forgets about it?
And of course we'd have to bring all our objects.
As for the tub, you know how I feel about bathrooms...

  10. House porn typically does not do anything for me... but this house... this man! Wow. What great taste. I would love to spend a couple of hours in silence just admiring all he has collected. And it's well presented... I don't feel like I'm in a thrift store. And backing up on an old cemetery? Sign me up! I would love that.... sigh. Perfection. And he's a bit odd, but intriguing.
