Oh, Brady....

When I think of getting a house, I think I would like to have all this light. Damn, I'd like to have all that light now!

This house feels airy and yet grounded. I love the floors (so warm!) and the furniture he has chosen. I like that they show the before/after and I am not a believer in the restorative power of paint. The difference! I love the rough linen sofa (I don't have pets) and the idea of creating a gathering place like that.

I love the dining room floor (do want) and that hallway upstairs with the bookshelf? Heaven. I have that Tom of Finland book, BTW and I love the idea of taking polaroids of the people who'd visit? I'm stealing that idea.

Jealous of the office, TBH. Jealous! His office had a living Mood Board and I approve. I also covet the primary bedroom. Seriously. And the backyard?????? Only in California, right?

XOXO

P.S. I applaud the idea of hiding the TV. I think they're hideous in a bedroom.

  1. I agree about all the spaciousness and light! Would be hard to feel gloomy in that house!

    1. I know, right????
I love the airy quality of the space. And how he lets texture and color bring the mood. Love.

  2. Got to study at Frank Geary???? Wow. Yeah, I could live there. I'd have trouble with the stairs, but.... It feels very mid-century modern. My fav. See how the white walls and ceilings allow for the color to come from the art and the furniture? We've done a few small accent walls (teal, marron, silver), but the vast majority is white. That way the color in the furniture and the sculptures and paintings pops. The outdoor spaces are great, too. OK - ask him when I can move in!! XOXO

    1. Oh, hiding the TV in the bedroom? No TV would be better.

    2. Yeah, he's got the credentials.
And it does feel very mid-century without being a museum, which is the goal, right?
And thank you for despising TVs in the bedroom as much as I do!

  3. Now this is one of those videos where the style is very close to mine. I love this even though it is a bit big for me. That bookshelf system is phenomenal !!!! And you know i love a good gallery wall.

I already take Polaroids of my guest. It's quite an x-rated collection.

    1. I loved the bookshelf system too!
His idea of using commercial furniture is actually quite cool.
Ohhh Polaroids, huh? Wanna show them off?

  4. I am definitely not a neutral person. Too much white. I like the space, but none of the rooms seem to have much of a personality. White floors?

    1. I actually find that he imbued each room with tons of style and personality: his high/low approach to decor and his use of texture and color to enhance the space are proof that you do not need to dip a room in red to make it attractive.
And white floors are awesome. Especially as an accent: notice where it is that he used that technique...

What a great house. I like the eclectic feel. The use of different periods really makes it lived in, it’s not a museum.

Everything is so light and airy. It feels spacious, especially in the living room with the glass corner wall, bringing in the outside. And I’m jealous of the backyard living space.

    1. That's the trick: to use different types of furniture from different periods to make the place look welcoming without looking like a museum piece.
I love the idea of an apartment so light and airy. You don't find that everywhere....

      And that backyard!!

  6. I love the airiness of the spaces and love the white since there is color and texture and mood in the things in the room. I must have the bookcase in the hallway and I will fight you to the death for the desk.
    And the yard? Gimme!

    1. Same. Totally same.
And that desk is a mood. You have NO IDEA how much I thanked mine when the pandemic came and I had my working space already set up.
That yard is literally made for me, too.
