Oh, 14 Looks...?

" ... it felt like I was going to battle..."

I agree with Sam: your clothes are your armour. Whether you are aware of that or not, that's a completely different story.

XOXO

P. S. If you’ve never needed an armour to face the world, you have a kind of passing privilege, btw.

    1. You may think that, but hey.
That also tells us that you 'pass'. You dress exactly as you need to telegraph others who you are. That's why you have those dinosaur socks, btw.

  2. Clothes are armor in how you project yourself to the world and, at times, protect yourself from the world. Anyone who says it's not armor has never picked out a shirt to wear or chosen a specific pair of pants or topped off their look with a hat of any kind.
    It's drag, it's armor, it's expression.

    1. I agree.
We present ourselves as we want to be perceived. That sometimes is exactly how society 'expects' us to look, so there's no dissonance.
Most people dress unconsciously, but there's always a message there: either 'I'm me' or 'I'm just like you expect to see me'.

  3. Sam Smith looks damn good in a full beard. And thank gawd they have ditched those boring masc suits for a more flamboyant and expressive look!

    HuntleyBiGuy:
Six foot two and size twelve shoes!?! I didn’t realize he was that tall. And you know what shoe size indicates 😜.

His look really has evolved, and continues to evolve, unlike some of us who are more conservative in our dress and pretty much stay that way. Though you did help me with a splash of fashion in selecting a bow tie for my brother’s wedding.

Yes, they're tall. Same with Boy George and Anhoni. People think they're dainty because they're pretty. And yes, I know about shoe, size, Mr. Over Six Feet Tall.

I think that their journey has been awesome. The concessions they make now to 'normal' seem subversive. Bravo!

And you do flair very well, babes.

  5. He looks like a pirate in this video. I love long coats... The serpentine outfit is lovely. I love bolero jackets, too. I'm 6'1.5. I love his comment about blaming the suit... I blame my clothing all the time... but its me. It 's always me. Fascinating. I adore the man so much. He's been through so much. To come out of it not hiding in limos like George Michael zonked out on some drug... bravo, Sam!

Very attractive. I agree. And we all blame the clothes! LOL
And I think fame both saved and exposed Sam. The thing is, they knew how to ride it.

  6. Big says,
We use clothes to disguise ourselves, really. Whether it is to hide a flaw or to enhance a feature, they are all costumes (armor, if you prefer).

I don't think that anybody consciously chooses to look bad. I think some people just need a tiny little push to find their 'style'.
