Oh, Troy and Frank...?

Oh, this is a labor of love. To transform a 1870s (!!) house into this? LOTS of work.

You know how I love when they show the 'before' pics, because that lets us know the amount of work it went into the final product. And the final product is classy, almost contemporary and absolutely stunning. Seriously. THAT is having a vision.

This is a style of house I find very attractive, because that central hallway allows for each room to be its own little world (and keeps the house cool in NOLA). I love their idea of supporting local artists, too you help the local art community and your house looks awesome.

They did some tweaks to the house, of course. It happens when your house was literally built last century. But really. The result is fab. And they have a fucking piano!!!

And that backyard? *faints*

They're such a cool couple, too. I'd LOVE to be invited to a dinner party there.

XOXO

P.S. the fact that the man who built the house lived there with his widow sister and there's no mention of a wife, gives me the idea that he may have been one of those 'confirmed bachelors'...

  1. That's some pretty impressive manspreading there, Troy.

  2. Big says,
I love these old homes. In the Garden District, no less! They're always so grand! The fact they managed to update but still retain the original style is amazing. That kitchen is to die for...that stove! Oh, I could do some damage there. But, oh, my.....that pool! Yes, please! When do I move in????

    1. Same!!
And keeping the original style IS an achievement. It's probably also a historic site, so there's that. Love the kitchen too! And I don't even cook that much.

      XOXO

  3. My God I absolutely love what they did to the outside of the house. And I love the inside especially the fireplace. And the other part of the house it's my favorite is the kitchen. Very nice reno. Very elegant. And I agree with Deb's Troy's man spread? Hmmmm..... they must need a lot of space for the jumblies!

  5. I like the inside; I am over stairs. But that garden is fabulous; I'd live out there full time.
PS Debra was spot on about the manspreading!

Well Troy, when you’ve got it, flaunt it 😜. This is a wonderful home, cozy and well appointed. They did a wonderful job inside and out.
