Oh, ...PONYBOI??
People usually say there's only seven kinds of stories in the world, right?
If I’m not wrong, they are:
- Overcoming the Monster
- Rags to Riches
- The Quest
- Voyage and Return
- Rebirth
- Comedy
- Tragedy
And then when you find a movie that seems that it's telling you another kind of story, you just know you have got to go see it. Enters Ponyboi. I will have to see this one.

P.S. it'll also give you a very grown up Stiles Stilinski and Murray Bartlett and Indya Moore....

Looks bleak and hopeful all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI know, right???
DeleteIt's a topic we don't see often in movies, that's for sure.
XOXO
I was thinking the same as Debra as I watched the trailer.
ReplyDeleteI'll lean into the hopeful.

Same.
DeleteIt's that survival instinct that you feel in the characters. Everybody's hustling.
XOXO
Those plot lines are so vague since we can have rebirth stories that end in tragedy, and quest lines that are definitely comedy. I'm betting Ponyboi does not have a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteBut Dave, as a writer you know that they need to be vague so the protagonist develops along with the narrative. And even though they are intertwined no new stories are told...
DeleteI'm betting Ponyboi gets their man and their life at the end...

DeleteIt's a tight narrative (one day) and there's several characters that are very intriguing for the way they are portrayed...
