Oh, Trixie...!

I love this house. I’d live here. Those colors!

I also love that Trixie, being a smart gurl, has put into practice everything she's learned from Drag Race (many girls need to start taking notes and stop blaming 'the edit'). I think it's a risk, having your own house being the focus of a home improvement show, but for what I can see, it paid. Investing wisely and playing to your strengths should not be rocket science.

I would watch the whole thing if I had HBO (I did watch Trixie Motel and it was fantastic) because I find Trixie and his partner to be super relatable. And I love what they did with this house. And that backyard! My surprise? When Trixie explained which things were David's taste. Yep.

  1. I love this one. It's a lot, and while I'm not usually into a "lot," this all works for me; even the mothertucking pink kitchen!
And that yard; how do I get Trixie and David to let Carlos and me move in?

    1. It's a LOT, right?
Nevertheless, it looks lived in and ... appropriate? I LOVE the kitchen and that kitchen counter? Honey...
If Trixie ever has a pool party I also want to be invited!!!

And apparently they are in the middle of the bustle! Love the privacy.
      Skinny dipping all the way!

This is fabulous! I think all of the rooms are tastefully done. Some of the things they mounted to the wall must have required additional support. I love the stained glass peacocks that afford additional privacy. The back yard and the veranda off the bedroom are priceless.

    1. I think so too!
She said that the one green piece of furniture is massive and very heavy. The peacocks is such a fab idea! The backyard, though... Do want!

  5. I totally dislike pink, that being said, I love that wallpaper in the living room, in fact that room works well, the rest of the house? meh.

    1. Love pink. Especially with that tone of green.
And I also like that wallpaper, which is weird because I'm not a wallpaper kind of person. This house rules.

  6. Of course you know I love it! Sometimes it just takes a queen. The only room I did not like is the kitchen. Completely dead set against a pink kitchen but everything else I love. And what I like the most is she didn't renovate just for the sake of renovating. That's very smart. I think sometimes people just renovate to get rid of the people's Essence that were there before them, even though the house still looks stunning. I never figured out why people did that. On a side note, I already told Trixie if she checks out before me I want to inherit all the wigs! You just know a house that Trixie lives in will be far from boring. And I plan on staying at her Motel one of these days.

I love that kitchen! I've never seen a pink kitchen. Especially those countertops! And I also noticed that: they did not go ahead and went all open concept and shipwrecked the whole thing in modern farmhouse. This house is fabulous and it did not compromise the actual structure. Kudos.
And if you EVER go to Trixie's Motel I wanna know because I'm booking a room!!

    2. Oh I love pink....but when we were in design school certain colors are off limits for certain rooms. Pink and orange are the worst for kitchens, because it can make food look very unappetizing...and certain greens are terrible for a bathroom, as it had a terrible effect on skin tone...especially for women ....and drag queens putting on make-up. Certain greens manipulate the skin tone, and to apply foundation and powder based make up evenly. But pink in a bathroom...an excellent color.

    3. Oh, that makes sense.
But orange was a staple in 70's kitchens, no? And green in a bathroom should be a nightmare. Can you imagine the tint??
And now I want a pink bathroom!

  7. That's a lot. She's a lot. That's a lot... a lot of stuff. A lot of ideas. A lot of colors... umm. Does she know what teal is? Because I am seeing milk glass greens... is it me? Well... That is a fantasy land and if that's where she wants to live... good for her. I liked the front of the house... those seating areas. I now want to see the motel. But how fun... for them. It looks like a lot of work. Hmm.

    1. By the way... the color of the table IS jade... milk jade... I think she must have been thinking of the dark jade... so, I get the disappointment, but... not the table maker's fault, gurl.

Yes, it's a lot. But it looks... approachable?
I think they did a great job with the color combos. And you have GOT to watch the Trixie Motel series! So fab!
