Oh, Asia Consent...!

First of all, that name! It gave me Bronski Beat vibes right away. Also, by now you may know that @Dragula is RuPaul's Drag Race's cooler, younger, oppositional defiant Goth second cousin once removed and it promotes some of the most incredibly creative Drag artists I've seen. Oh, yes. Drag is not only pretty ladies and gentlemen with painted nails. It is also pretty ladies and gentlemen who are gritty and confrontational.

And here we have a good example: @asiaconsent (who literally grew up with RPDR!) gives us the details of a mug beat for the gawds and a sample of the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent that took her/them to the top of Dragula. Drag makeup really is a whole artistic endeavor. So hold on, because it IS a bumpy ride.

XOXO

P.S. love the fact that she streams on Twitch! Gaymers!

  1. I have always found the odd drag queens the most interesting; such amazing talent to create those looks.

    1. Oh, absolutely.
The kookier, the better because the final product is a surprise. Asia is fab because that makeup (and costume) are both beautiful and a little scary...

  2. Big says,
It's rather more irreverant and fun than Ru's. And fun is what it's all about, isn't it?

RPDR has a place and a time. But Dragula is fab. I love the characters that audition for that show!

  4. Many people...even drag queens discount the creepy drag and horror aspect. What many don't know is this they are far more creative and much more talented when it comes to make up and wigs and ensembles.

    1. Oh, they discount Creepy Drag and it's their loss.
It's such a fun, creative field. The costumes alone are much more conceptual than let's say, pageant costumes, that tend to be elaborate but within a range/style.

  5. Very much like clown make-up. Not a bad thing. It takes so much time and effort to look so good. And what skill. Not for me. I currently like pulling off layers... not hiding behind them. Kizzes.

    1. It IS very elaborate!
And very complex. Drag reminds me of Kabuki.
